Allison Pontius, MD, is board-certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, and Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. She specializes in advanced nonsurgical facial rejuvenation, regenerative aesthetics, and longevity medicine. During more than 20 years in aesthetic medicine, she has developed a comprehensive, anatomy-based approach that integrates injectable treatments, energy-based technologies, and regenerative strategies to create natural, individualized outcomes. Dr. Pontius earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed a general surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic, followed by residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She later completed additional fellowship training in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. An experienced clinical investigator, educator, and author, Dr. Pontius has served as a principal or evaluating investigator in multiple pivotal clinical trials involving dermal fillers and neuromodulators. She has published on facial rejuvenation, injectable treatments, regenerative medicine, and facial plastic surgery and lectures nationally on full-face rejuvenation, injectable safety, longevity, and strategies for optimizing aesthetic outcomes. Dr. Pontius is guest editor of the forthcoming Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America issue, “Healing from Within: Biologics in Facial Plastic Surgery.” Her current professional interests include the critical, evidence-based evaluation of peptides, growth factors, and other emerging biologic therapies in aesthetic and regenerative medicine. She practices in Santa Barbara, California, where she co-founded Santa Barbara Face & Body with plastic surgeon Alain Polynice, MD. |
