Dr. Kimberly Butterwick |
Kimberly Butterwick, MD is a board-certified Dermatologist specializing in cosmetic dermatology for over 30 years and is also a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. She is recognized as a thought leader in cosmetic procedures, having advanced techniques for liposuction, fat transfer and injectables for optimal beauty of the face and body. Dr. Butterwick advises and participates in clinical studies of fillers and neuromodulators and teaches her techniques worldwide, often in live demonstrations. Dr. Butterwick is considered an authority in laser treatments, skin tightening procedures, suture lifting, and sculpting the body, not only with liposculpture, but also with non-invasive body contouring procedures. She has authored or co-authored numerous medical articles and book chapters on many topics in cosmetic dermatology and given hundreds of academic lectures. She has served on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society—organizations for which she has also served on numerous committees and educational events. Dr. Butterwick is a dedicated mentor for the WDS and ASDS and has co-directed a cosmetic fellowship in her practice for over 20 years. She was recognized for this work with the WDS Mentor of the Year award in 2022. The WDS has further recognized Dr. Butterwick as the 2024 WDS Legacy Honoree. Every year for over 15 years, Dr. Butterwick has been named one of America’s Top Physicians, Best Doctors in America and/or Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award. In 2022 and 2023, she was named in the top 10 of Newsweek's Top 100 Cosmetic Dermatologists in America. In 2023 she was awarded with the prestigious Stegman Award for. distinguished service by the ASDS. Additionally, Dr. Butterwick was a co-founder of, and actually named, SkinMedica, a leading skincare line. Dr. Butterwick practices in San Diego, CA with Cosmetic Laser Dermatology, a Platinum Dermatology Partners company.
