Dr. Chaffoo is a triple board certified plastic surgeon whose practice is limited to aesthetic plastic surgery with an emphasis on hair restoration for both men and women. He completed two surgical residencies in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery as well as a one year fellowship in Facial Plastic Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Chaffoo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Chaffoo is an active member of the Aesthetic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is the past President of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society and former Chief of Plastic Surgery, Scripps Memorial Hospital, Encinitas, CA. Dr. Chaffoo is an international lecturer and guest faculty at numerous plastic surgery society meetings including the Aesthetic Society, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and FUE-Europe amongst others. He has trained physicians from across the USA in the latest techniques for hair restoration in his La Jolla practice along with his wife, Susan Stuart, MD, FAAD, a board certified dermatologist with whom he practices. Dr. Chaffoo is also the medical advisor to Stemson Therapeutics, a La Jolla biotech company, where they are developing a novel regenerative model approach to hair loss and are the only company in the world to have cloned a human hair follicle. Dr. Chaffoo and Dr. Stuart have co-authored a textbook for the public on the medical and surgical management of hair loss for men and women. |
