Dr. Sheila Farhang is a board-certified dermatologist and double-fellowship trained cosmetic surgeon as well as a reconstructive Mohs micrographic (skin cancer) surgeon. “Dr. Sheila” as many know her as, stands out in the dermatology space as she has expertise in both integrative skincare and cutting-edge procedures. She is also highly regarded in the female empowerment space being a founder, CEO, and multi-business owner. Since opening her boutique-style practice Avant Dermatology & Aesthetics in 2020, Dr. Farhang and her husband have increasingly become more involved in the community through various charities and outreach programs. She recently expanded her practice, also seeing patients on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. While she often travels the country and internationally to lecture and engage in media, she loves coming back to Tucson. She is so grateful that Avant Dermatology & Aesthetics has been voted best dermatology practice. Dr. Sheila attended the University of Texas for her undergraduate and medical degrees. Dr. Sheila then completed her dermatology residency at the University of South Florida Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. During this time, she augmented her surgical education with additional training with plastic surgeons. Upon completion, she was selected for a position at arguably one of the most competitive programs in the country for dual fellowship at the Skin Institute of South Florida and Hollywood Dermatology in the Miami, FL area. During this time, she also completed a year-long entrepreneur and leadership program through the Advancing Innovation in Dermatology led by Harvard faculty and international industry leaders. As a rising leader in the field, Dr. Farhang has authored numerous publications in top dermatology journals, has written textbook chapters, and has been invited to present her research internationally. Dr. Farhang is also principle investigator for dermatology clinical trials. Dr. Farhang is considered a media expert by the American Academy of Dermatology and has been selected as a Key Opinion Leader for large industry skin and beauty companies. Dr. Farhang has a large social media presence (@Dr.Sheila_Derm) where she is known for her skin and beauty tips, health/wellness, female empowerment, and her integrative medical approach. Dr. Farhang is considered a celebrity media expert, from being featured in over 100 media contributions/magazines features as well television appearances on shows including The View, The Doctors, Entertainment Tonight, and Dr. Oz. |
