Dr. Larisa Lehmer is board-certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. She practices medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology at Newport Beach Dermatology & Plastic Surgery. Dr. Lehmer has a special interest in the use of energy-based technologies to address an increasing array of dermatologic concerns and the surgical management of skin cancers. Additionally, she has a passion for evidence-based nutrition and its profound influence on the body’s ability to prevent and fight both cancerous and inflammatory diseases of the skin. She is from San Luis Obispo, California, and completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Stanford University, where she double-majored in Biological Sciences and Slavic Languages & Literature and completed her Master’s degree in Russian, Eastern European, & Eurasian Studies. Dr. Lehmer is well-versed in the diverse medical needs of her Orange county community, as she completed her M.D., Internship in Internal Medicine, and Residency in Dermatology at the University of California, Irvine. In medical school, she was inducted into the AOA National Medical Honor Society for her exemplary service and academic performance. In Residency, Dr. Lehmer was Chief Resident of Cosmetics, working closely with faculty experts to coordinate the program’s aesthetic procedural curriculum. Dr. Lehmer has published over 20 articles in the peer-reviewed literature and co-authored three book chapters in the areas of laser surgery in dermatology and histopathology. She received the a Sturge Weber Foundation Grant in support of her research with Dr. Kristen Kelly on the biology of port-wine birthmarks. She is also a recipient of the Jane Hill Cancer Research Scholarship for her work on aberrant angiogenesis. In her free time, she enjoys cooking healthy plant-based meals for her family. |
